More About Administrators

Below the Administrator user role in WordPress, there is Editor, Author, Contributor, and Subscriber. The only role above the Administrator is the Super Admin, but this user is only relevant in multi-site networks.

An administrator can perform common actions like creating new users, moderating comments, publishing pages, editing posts, etc. An Administrator can also modify a site’s theme, manage its plugins, and use the Customizer tool.

Most websites only have one Administrator. In fact, it is wise to limit the number of Administrators per site. This limitation can reduce the chances of security breaches or hacking events.
