What is a Draft?
In WordPress, a draft is an unfinished and unpublished copy of a page, post, or custom post type. You can only see it on the back end of a WordPress website.
More About Drafts
A page, post, or custom post type is considered a draft before it’s published. Essentially, drafts are saved versions of content that users do not want to publish yet. Drafts can also be scheduled for publishing later on. However, they can still be unscheduled anytime before the set publish date.
There is a Save as draft button at the top right-hand corner of the post editing screen in WordPress. A draft view on the back end is distinct from the front end perspective. Next to the Save as draft button, a Preview button enables users to see how their current draft will look on the front end.
