The WordPress revision system acts as a kind of version control. The editor enables you to compare revisions to identify changes and restore previous versions of pages or posts at any time.
With WordPress, you can control how many revisions the Content Management System (CMS) stores. You can also configure how long WordPress keeps these revisions. These settings can be crucial because revisions can take a lot of space if your website has an extensive library of content.
You can also choose to disable the revisions system entirely. However, we recommend against this method because it can often be helpful to have access to previous versions of content that you’re working on.
