What are Meta Keywords?
Meta keywords are meta tags that you can add to thesection of a web page’s HTML source code. They are not visible to a page’s visitors.
More About Meta Keywords
More than a decade ago, meta keywords may have been ranking factors because they signaled what a page’s content was about to search engine bots.
However, all major search engines, including Google and Bing, have confirmed that they are no longer considered. The only exception is the Russian search engine Yandex, which may still use them (though this is not certain). Google might have started ignoring meta keywords because they were so frequently abused.
Although meta keywords have no SEO value today, some marketers may still want to use them as a part of the internal tagging system on their Content Management System (CMS). They can help avoid duplicate keywords and cannibalized content.
