The goal of a featured image is to provide users with context about a blog post. You can also use these images for stylistic purposes. Typically, pages don’t use featured images in WordPress.
Both the Classic and Block Editors include options for setting featured images. You can use an image from your media library or upload a new one and set it as featured.
