To start featuring widgets on your WordPress website, you’ll need to choose what to include in your widget area. Most themes support widget areas in the sidebar and footer of your web pages. However, some let you add widgets below or above content areas and the header.
You can edit your widget areas by going to Appearance > Customizer > Widgets. You can also navigate to Appearance > Widgets. Once you do this, you can add widgets to any area supported by your theme. If you need to add additional widget areas, you can add code to your theme template files.
