What is wp-config.php?
wp-config.php is a file in the WordPress root directory that contains your website’s configuration details. These include your database name, host, username, and password.
More About wp-config.php
When you download WordPress, the wp-config.php file won’t be included. However, once you provide information during the installation process, WordPress will create a wp-config.php file for you.
If you need to create a wp-config.php file manually, WordPress includes a sample version in the root folder, containing all the necessary coding. Since any misconfiguration of this file can break a website, many website owners will never need to edit it.
If you need to, you can locate the wp-config.php file via an FTP client or cPanel. The wp-config.php file will be under the public_html folder in the File Manager.
